Cakeboi is my local cafe and go to spot for coffee, breaky and of course any cake for any celebration! YUM!! Friendly staff, delicious sweets and savoury options (also great for dietary requirements), great coffee! Lovely space and child friendly!

I recently got my birthday cake from Cakeboi, and it was an amazing experience from start to finish! The cakes are absolutely delicious—fluffy, flavorful, and beautifully decorated. Whether you're looking for a special treat or something to enjoy with your coffee, Cakeboi nails it every time. The service was also top-notch—friendly, welcoming, and quick to help. Highly recommend for anyone craving a sweet indulgence!

Long story short: I thought I ordered my daughter’s 6th birthday cake for Saturday afternoon pickup — right before Cakeboi closed at 2pm for the weekend. Her party was Sunday morning and I work Saturdays, so my husband was on pickup duty. 2:30pm and husband calls to say he forgot to pick it up (cue potential divorce proceedings), and by this time, it was too late. Enter Reece, the literal Cakeboi hero. He was in Sydney at R&B Fridayz, messaged me back at midnight asking when the party was, and THEN turned up on a Sunday (his day off!) after getting home at 2am… only to discover my order never actually went through. No cake. No hope. Just chaos. But somehow, the cake gods were smiling — there was one unfrosted cake left in the kitchen. Reece frosted it, added sprinkles, and single-handedly saved my daughter’s birthday (and probably my marriage). Reece, you’re an absolute angel. This is what customer service looks like. You’ve got a customer for life — and next time, I promise I’ll double-check I actually ordered 😉.

Have been wanting to visit for ages and despite being late into the day it was worth it! The focaccia sandwiches were gorgeous, one of the best focaccias I've had, with plenty of simple, delicious filling. The cakes were lovely, travelled well back to Sydney! Will have to visit earlier to sample the full range. Lovely, friendly staff who were very attentive. Worth the wait! And the trip!

Was looking for Medovik Russian honey cake everywhere in Newcastle with no luck until a lovely lady who bakes/sells on FB marketplace let me know of this place. Been here twice since and not a letdown so far. Wonderful friendly staff, clean cute simple "bubblegum" decor, great coffee and love the fact that it wasn't jam- packed when we went. Just the right amount of sweetness (or saltiness 😉), professionally but homely decorated & very generous portion slices. We often travelled to the Hunter Valley dessert bar when the crave for sugar rush beacons, but so happy to find this gem closer to home. With few different selections each visit to entice us, we are on a mission to keep coming back until we've tried each and everyone of them!

I bought Cakeboi’s Nan’s Sponge with Lemon Curd on a whim for my husband's birthday, and wow — it was perfection! The sponge was so light and fluffy, with that nostalgic homemade taste that instantly makes you smile. The lemon curd was the perfect balance of sweet and tangy — you could tell it was made with real care. Cakeboi himself was so obliging and lovely to deal with, going above and beyond to make sure everything was just right, even at such short notice. Everyone at dinner couldn’t stop raving about it (even Cici, the family cake maker) — it was hands-down the star of the table. Highly recommend! If you’re thinking about ordering — do it. You won’t regret it. 💛🍋🎂

Recently attended the Cake and Sip and it did not disappoint! It was such a fun afternoon crafting with friends. We made a cute little gingerbread house that really got us into the Christmas spirit, all while being spoilt with wine and cake. Highly recommend!

Amazing day today with Reece and Lauren making a ginger bread house 🏠. As someone who is not very creative, with the expert guidance and really good quality gingerbread and icing, it looks great and made it home in one piece structurally in tact! Thanks for a great day 🎄😁
